The Indonesians and football
Football became popular at the start of the 20th century. At that time, Indonesia belonged to the Netherlands and was called the Netherlands East Indies. It was in 1994 that the first Indonesian championship was organised. The Indonesians are fiery supporters who support their team with passion. Dressed in the colours of their favourite clubs or the national team, the Indonesians show great enthusiasm at each match.
