The Egyptian boys’ football team took part in the Danone Nations Cup for the first time in 2008. During this edition, the Egyptian players were voted as the fairest team of the international tournament. After several entries in the DNC, the young Egyptians improved their game to achieve 19th place in 2010. Constantly progressing, the boys’ Egyptian team will be ready to do battle during the next competition.
The Egyptians: true lovers of football
The first football championship in Egypt took place in 1948 with 11 clubs placed into groups. Among the most iconic Egyptian clubs, we can mention Al-Ahly, Zamalek Sporting Club, Ismaily SC, Al Masry and Al Ittihad. The vast majority of Egyptians are true football enthusiasts. This is felt by the warm atmosphere in the Egyptian stadiums or even by the enthusiasm of the supporters at major football sporting events. They will be able to show their support to the U12s Egyptian football team during the next edition of the Danone Nations Cup.

Three time winner of the Africa Cup of Nations and repeatedly selected for the Egyptian national team, Abdel Zaher El-Saqqa has made a name for himself amongst the world’s greatest football players. His outstanding career made this great name in Egyptian football an iconic person to follow and one which young Egyptian players dream of resembling. He is the ambassador for Egypt at the Danone Nations Cup.
