The competition is divided in 3 phases before qualifying the winning team for the international final: 48 tournaments occur in "Wilaya" (one tournament per city) and 2 winners of each regional qualifications (9 tournaments) participate in the national final to have the opportunity to represent their country during the international final.

During all the steps of the competition, the DNC Algeria implements animations to raise awareness of a balanced nutrition among the children.

Each year, the competition is organized in association with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sport. In 2017, it is partnered by the National Federation of "Sport for All" and the Algerian School Sport Federation. The registration is spontaneous by community, region, city...
